DCS Announces the Summer Youth Musical

Below is a message from Tim Bixler, Executive Director of Delta Center Stage (DCS):
Delta Center Stage’s Annual Summer Youth Musical will be Peter Pan!
Casting is structured in a way that every school age child who wishes to be a part of the cast will be included. There are no fees or enrollment costs.
Details from the DCS website are copied below. In order to view the script or listen to the music, visit the DCS website at www.deltastage.com, click on the announcements tab, and follow the appropriate link.
Auditions for “Peter Pan”, DCS annual summer youth musical have been set! This will be a NEW script featuring the LONDON West End Production by Piers Chater Robinson. ALL school age youth will all be assigned a role.
• Open auditions will be held Saturday May 18th from 11:00am-2:00pm and Sunday May 19th from 1:00pm-5:00pm at EE Bass Cultural Arts Center 323 S. Main Street
• Production dates will be in late July, 2013

• Students interested in auditioning do not have to prepare anything in advance, but anyone who wishes to be considered for a featured or solo singing role will be asked to demonstrate singing and acting talent, and will likely be called back by special arrangement for a more focused audition.

• Those who don’t wish to try out for a major character will be included as either Indians, Lost Boys, or Pirates.
• A pdf of the entire script (view only) and links to demo songs from the play are available on the Delta Center Stage website.

Willy Wonka opens TONIGHT!

Tonight is the night! Willy Wonka, the Delta Center Stage youth musical, is finally here! Over 100 Delta youth will bring you Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir. This stage adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which features the songs from the classic family film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory has become a consistent favorite across the nation.

Roald Dahl’s WILLY WONKA is a scrumdidilyumptious musical guaranteed to delight everyone’s sweet tooth. In a troubled world looking for escape, let Willy Wonka take you on a fantasy ride into the land of pure imagination!

Shows are tonight (July 26th) through Sunday (July 29th), with shows at 7:30 Thursday-Saturday and a 2:30 matinee on Sunday. Admission is $18 for adults, $10 for students under 16, and free for current DCS season subscribers.
