They’re back! Last year we introduced Mississippi Teaching Artist Saturday workshops and we are excited to announce this year’s line up! This school year we are hosting 4 teaching artists – 2 in the fall and 2 in the spring. Registration is FREE for all Greenville Public and Western Line teachers and administrators or $60 for the general public. 0.6 CEU credits are available per workshop to participants for $15 (checks made payable to Delta State University), all paperwork will be available on site.
Annie B. McKee – Storytelling, Social Studies and Common Core

Annie B. McKee represents the state’s heritage in her role as a storyteller, author, public speaker, humorist, and creator of historic literary performance events. Ms. McKee is the author of Historic Photos of Mississippi, which documents the rich history of the state. Ms. McKee has written several short plays for children featuring Mississippi historic artists including Jim Henson, Eudora Welty, Richard Wright, Robert Johnson, and Elvis – teaching the struggles and accomplishments of each artist. Ms. McKee’s workshop will explore storytelling in connection to Social Studies and Common Core State Standards for both literary and informational text. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND.
