They’re back! Last year we introduced Mississippi Teaching Artist Saturday workshops and we are excited to announce this year’s line up! This school year we are hosting 4 teaching artists – 2 in the fall and 2 in the spring. Registration is FREE for all Greenville Public and Western Line teachers and administrators or $60 for the general public. 0.6 CEU credits are available per workshop to participants for $15 (checks made payable to Delta State University), all paperwork will be available on site.
Sarah Campbell – Art, Science and Common Core

Sarah C. Campbell is an award-winning writer and photo-illustrator whose specialty is nonfiction books for children. Campbell’s latest book, Growing Patterns: Fibonacci Numbers in Nature, was named a 2011 Outstanding Science Trade Book for Students K-12 by the National Science Teachers Association. Ms. Campbell’s workshop will explore how bookmaking can be used in the context of both science and language arts – specifically using the new Common Core State Standards for informational text. All materials for bookmaking are included for participants and Ms. Campbell’s books will be available for purchase on site. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND.
