On Thursday, March 31st, the fourth grade class of Susie Trigg Elementary School performed an adaptation of The Wiz for their peers and the Parent-Teacher Organization. Over 40 students from Ms. E. Davis, Ms. Stovall and Ms. Parish’s fourth grade classes worked under the direction of Ms. E. Davis and Ms. Buchanan, the school’s music teacher.
Trigg’s version of The Wiz adapted the musical The Wiz: The Super Soul Musical “Wonderful Wizard of Oz” by Charlie Smalls to tell a message about the importance of staying in school and relocated the story from New York to Greenville, MS.
The afternoon performance was well received by the first through third grade classes, who loved the story and the acting. The evening performance was full of proud parents and grandchildren, impressed at the students ability to memorize so many lines.
